Khai On Form Again

On Saturday 8th June Khai showed her form once more, moving from the endurance track to the athletics track, breaking the county record.
photoIt was a long day, she was at the track from 10.30am to race at 1.36pm and 5.23pm. She got through to the final easily.

She won the final by 6 1/2 seconds and broke the county record held since 1971 in her 800m in 2m14.21

She has now been invited to represent Essex in the English Schools Championships on 5th and 6th of July.

Khai also featured in the Athletics Weekly magazine as a future young athlete commanding a whole page dedicated to her success. This young lady from Takeley is a talent to watch.

Updates On Our Athletes

Runners-Wed-6-Feb-2013.jpgIn the Essex Primary Cross Country Race at Hylands Park on 4th February, Lila, Millie, Grace, Nadia, Khai and Thomas all ran so well!
We have two athletes from our school through to represent Essex in the South East England Inter Counties Cross Country Championships on Saturday 23rd March.

Again this will be at Hylands Park, Chelmsford. Khai came 5th, whilst being really unwell, and Lila came 14th in her race.

Khai-Wins-race-4-Feb-2013.jpgKhai won the Essex Schools Country race for Under 13 girls on Saturday 2nd February in Basildon! She is the first person to win for North-West Essex, it seems.
Khai pulled away as the race went on and she had a good lead by half way and won quite comfortably. Her time was 12minutes 47 seconds, more than a minute ahead of the second placed girl.
She has now been selected along with the top 8 finishers to represent Essex on 16th March in Derby.

Victory For Our Endurance Runners!

What a week! On Wednesday 21st November we entered our first teams in the North West Essex School Sports Association District Cross Country Running Event at the Great Notley Discovery Centre. We entered pupils in Year 7, 8, 9 and 10. On the day Lila won the race for the Year 7 girls and Khai won overall. This was a fantastic result especially given it was the first time we had entered.

And then this Wednesday, we sent a team of Year 7s and 8s to the Cut Hedge Cross Country Event at Gosfield School. Expectations were high and we were not disappointed.

Khai won again and Lila came in 6th but best of all, overall, the girls’ team won the Silver Medal; they came second out of all the schools who entered.

Thank you to Sally and all the other parents who helped this happen. The Christian School (Takeley) is on the endurance running map!
