Sharing Information and Whistle Blowing Policies

Information sharing is vital to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Where there are concerns about the safety of a child, the sharing of information in a timely and effective manner between organisations can reduce the risk of harm.

In accordance with our values of integrity, charity, truthfulness and honesty we are committed to the highest possible standards of openness, probity and accountability. Staff and others working with us (including agency workers, contractors, drivers and volunteers) have a responsibility to bring concerns about any aspect of our work to the attention of senior leadership and/or relevant agencies. This procedure encourages staff to raise serious concerns, without fear of reprisal or victimisation, internally within. It is recognised that whistle blowing may engender feelings of disloyalty to colleagues, however concerns about unacceptable behaviour must be raised to:

  • Prevent the problem getting worse
  • To protect others
  • To protect yourself from being implicated.

This policy is separate to the Safeguarding Policy and the Complaints Procedure.
