Administrator and Financial Assistant

To support the Head Teacher, teaching staff and Trustees in providing a first class financial and administrative service which will enhance the performance and reputation of the school.

If you are prayerful, organised and have good office skills, and would like to work in a Christian educational environment, this job could be perfect for you.

You will need good spoken and written communication skills as well as skills in book keeping and information technology. When working under pressure you will have to stay organised and prioritise your tasks. Confidentiality is essential as is the ability to keep a professional distance yet remain welcoming.

You need previous experience of office work, especially the main computer software packages and able to work with school management software and Quick Books. You need to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Teacher in the Infants (Year 1 and Year 2)
Salary 16K to 21K Full Time, depending on experience

Applications by Thursday 15th March to start in the Summer Term (16th April)

Person specification

You will be a caring, prayerful person able to understand individual pupil needs and how to manage a mixed age group of up to 10 children, currently 4. You will work well in a team. You will be able to manage teaching assistants.

You will have experience of teaching at this age group and able to give examples of your good practice.

You will be able to apply the Christian ethos and values of the school to your teaching of the children with a strong commitment to social, moral, spiritual and cultural education, Bible story teaching, and British values.

You will have an understanding of the teaching of phonics, an enthusiasm for numeracy, love of topic work and be able to engage the children through your and their creativity.

You will be a person with obvious compassion, a commitment to community life and experience beyond the classroom, maybe in Church work or charitable work.

Job description

We operate a small school model and use a curriculum provided by the Hamilton Trust to inform our planning. Each year group usually has no more than 5 children.

Each candidate will need to complete Safeguarding checks as well as train in paediatric first aid.

We are initially looking for a part time appointment, sharing the job with the current teacher at the school on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and part of Friday.

We would consider a full-time appointment or fewer days.
